BluChaos is seeking an experienced Product Design Engineer III to join our Product & Design team. You’ll take on increased responsibility for complex design projects, mentor junior designers, and contribute to the evolution of our design practices. You’ll lead design initiatives from concept through implementation, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help establish design standards that elevate our entire product suite. Description

  • Lead design initiatives for complex web and mobile applications from concept through launch
  • Mentor and provide constructive feedback to junior designers on the team
  • Design and prototype sophisticated user interfaces using industry-standard tools and methodologies
  • Conduct comprehensive user research and usability testing to inform strategic design decisions
  • Develop and evolve design systems and style guides to ensure consistency and scalability
  • Collaborate with developers and product managers to ensure design excellence in implementation
  • Create detailed wireframes, user flows, information architecture, and interactive prototypes
  • Lead design workshops and brainstorming sessions with cross-functional teams
  • Stay current with emerging design trends and best practices to drive innovation
  • Work with clients to define detailed requirements and design complete user experiences
  • Apply advanced user-centered design principles with expertise in mobile-first and responsive design
  • Establish and refine design team processes, standards, and best practices
  • Present design concepts and strategic rationale to stakeholders and leadership
  • Contribute to hiring and team growth initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Engineering or related field
  • 3-5 years of professional UI/UX design experience for web and mobile applications
  • Expert proficiency in Figma or Penpot (required) for design and prototyping
  • Strong proficiency in Storybook.JS for building and documenting UI components
  • Excellent portfolio showcasing diverse UI/UX design projects with public samples
  • Solid working knowledge of HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript to effectively collaborate with engineers
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, research methodologies, and responsive design
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and provide design feedback

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing for SaaS/ERP applications or enterprise software platforms
  • Proficiency in additional design software and prototyping tools
  • Experience establishing or significantly contributing to design systems
  • Strong research and analytical skills with hands-on user testing experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead design initiatives and drive design strategy
  • Experience working in product-led/agile/scrum environments
  • Knowledge of design accessibility standards (WCAG, ARIA)
