Accountant I, New Associate

Description

  • Assist with full-cycle accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance under supervision
  • Support month-end and year-end closing procedures with guidance from senior team members
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial documentation in compliance with IFRS/PFRS standards
  • Assist with payroll processing and benefits administration using established systems
  • Support tax compliance activities and regulatory filing preparation
  • Help maintain and reconcile bank accounts and financial accounts with oversight
  • Process vendor payments and support cash flow management activities
  • Utilize Excel and QuickBooks Online to maintain accurate financial records
  • Support administrative functions including contract management and office operations
  • Collaborate with team members to understand business requirements and learn financial processes
  • Document accounting procedures and assist in establishing internal controls
  • Participate in audit preparation and support external auditor interactions

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (recent graduate or within 1 year of graduation)
  • Less than 1 year of relevant accounting experience or strong academic background in accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level) and willingness to learn QuickBooks Online
  • Basic understanding of IFRS/PFRS principles and financial reporting
  • Knowledge of fundamental accounting concepts and practices
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work in a team environment and follow established procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship experience in accounting or finance
  • Familiarity with accounting software platforms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to ask clarifying questions
  • Proactive attitude with willingness to learn and grow
  • Experience with payroll systems or benefits administration
  • CPA exam preparation or enrollment in CPA program
